Before the governor of Aguascalientes, María Teresa Jiménez Esquivel, executives of the American company Edgewell announced an investment of 110 million dollars and the creation of more than 1,300 direct jobs to establish a plant in the state to produce personal care products.
“With hard work, talent and ability, Aguascalientes is a fundamental part of the success of bilateral relations between Mexico and the United States, especially in the economic field. This solid relationship of friendship and collaboration between our state and that country is a guarantee of growth and prosperity for the Edgewell project in our state, since it represents an economic spillover of great importance that will have a strong impact on the development of our state and on the quality of life of the people of Aguascalientes,” said the governor.
Rod Little, CEO of Edgewell, thanked the governor for her support in making this project a reality. “We didn’t end up here by accident, we looked at more than 30 places in Mexico to make sure we chose the right location, and that was Aguascalientes,” he said.
He also mentioned that they decided to establish themselves in this state because it has highly qualified personnel, public security, quality education, strategic location, but above all, because of the support and accompaniment of state authorities.
For his part, Carlos Texidor, Edgewell's Global Vice President of Operations, said that its new plant in Aguascalientes will begin operations in 2025 in the FINSA industrial park, in the south of the city. He also said that this company has a presence in more than 50 countries and is dedicated to the production of products for skin protection, personal hygiene, shaving and feminine care.
The president and general director of the FINSA industrial park, Sergio Argüelles, indicated that FINSA Aguascalientes is home to more than 20 companies that generate around 5,000 jobs, for which he thanked Edgewell for its trust in making the decision to establish its plant of more than 55,000 square meters in this industrial zone.
Finally, Esaú Garza de Vega, Secretary of Economic Development, Science and Technology, welcomed the new company. “For us in Aguascalientes, it is a great pleasure to host Edgewell and be part of its growth in the world, particularly in the Latin American region, with the manufacturing and distribution of products that will proudly be made in our state. Know that we will accompany you every step of the way,” he said.
Finally, the governor received the letter of commitment to invest from Edgewell executives, unveiled a commemorative plaque and planted a tree as a symbol of the establishment of this new company in the state.
