In recent years, Mexico has positioned itself as a vital player in the manufacturing sector, particularly in the production and export of electronic and automotive products. Tijuana, due to its proximity to the border with the United States, benefits from quick access to the U.S. market, making it an attractive hub for companies looking to reduce logistics costs. Saltillo and Monterrey, on the other hand, boast a strong infrastructure and a well-established industrial culture, making them key centers for steel and machinery production.
In the Bajío region, Aguascalientes, Querétaro and Guanajuato are the stars of industrial growth in Mexico. Querétaro stands out for its aerospace development, hosting important plants of international companies thanks to its central location and engineering training programs. This attracts a skilled workforce. Guanajuato, traditionally agricultural, has diversified its economy with the arrival of automotive industries, thereby achieving a balance between production and sustainability.
Finally, in the center of the country, Puebla has emerged as an automotive hub. Its proximity to Mexico City provides an added advantage in terms of access to markets and human resources, making the city a viable option for establishing new industrial operations.
The geographical diversity and developing infrastructure of Mexico are key factors attracting investments and positioning the country as a leader in manufacturing in Latin America.
